The book built on Krout’s previous ones world but lacked any real engagement. The beginning drug on with *shudders* children who actively try to injure and hurt him before he then goes philosophical rant to a bunch of preteens that can’t even write down their non-existent names as they subtly try to get him to drown himself. Next we see a terrible old lady that even later in the book they say she needs death, yet somehow she survived in a place of honor unharmed as she lashed at others.

If you thought the start was bad however, get ready, because next they took all the meta world building from Divine Dungeon and called it all false, and then spent 5 hours in a rambling spew of how he can do it differently and all in the previous books was off mark while maintaining shallow character interaction.

bright side is that there’s a good narrator for this one, had to drop the completionist after the switch.
