I’m going to focus on the story since the narrator was great as well as the writing itself. It feels like being teased along with the promise of a payoff when there was never one to begin with, Jason gets a half-victory so you get a minor pay off, but there are a few other things that make you think “Heck yeah, finally!” only to have them ripped out at the last possible minute.
To be quite honest it’s a shame as I have loved the series so far, and now I’m not even sure if I’ll continue to the next book, that’s how rough of an experience this one was. At the very least I’ll probably give the series a break and maybe come back at a later date to continue and see how things go, I am hopeful for the future as I do really enjoy Mr. Bagwell’s writing style quite a bit.
