I will say that I went about halfway through the book listening to references and getting only half of them. Some of them were literally dnd memes ripped straight off of r/dndmemes but some were actual references that ranged from Lord of the rings to a recent slightly obscure Cultivation story about just wanting to start a farm while also having a “moon rooster” (It’s called Beware the Chicken if anyone is interested) but the references basically hit a point that felt like they were there for extra padding and became REALLY obvious later that they were pushing a reference at you as a form of substitution of original jokes. Overall it’s a solid meh. Crabby was way too quick to agree to anything and everything someone said to him and his personality felt like it literally came from his “random sentience knowledge” and just clashed whenever something occurred where actual input of personal preference came up and he just defaulted on what others around him wanted.
