This is only the 2nd lit rpg I have tried so take this with that in mind.
This was so focused on the background of all the numerous systems and gimmicks (bones) while offering barely any narrative story (meat). It was like some people sat and compiled every d and d campaign absurd moment and put a string through them calling it a story.
If you think a string of random encounters filled with quips and absurd characters qualifies as a well told story, this book is for you. Maybe that’s all lit rpgs are which will turn me away from the genre shortly.
The sad part is I like the 2 main characters and many of the side characters. Their dynamic is fun and it would be great to see them in something ither than the cheapest ripoff of a battle royale.
