The essential story here is a very interesting one. But there is absolutely NOTHING here that deserved 19 hours of my time. 10-11 hours would have been plenty. SO much repetition. I feel like I heard the same exact sentences many times. In fact, more than once, I wondered if I had bumped the scroll bar on the app and jumped back by accident.
The performance is very good. Kevin Pierce is a very comfortable reader, and fits this material beautifully. But, even a great performance can only carry an overloaded basket so far.
Thomas Edward Luther is/was a monster. And this story, in its essence, was fairly compelling. But, there’s interesting enough to keep this droning going on and on. I am 3.5 hours from the end, and I am bailing. Just can’t take it any more. I should have bailed several hours back.
