The story was a told from the monster’s point of view. This made it an unusual and interesting story. The performance of the narration was one of the best things about it. He did an outstanding job. However, for me, the continuity of the story was lost and hard to follow because of the overuse of giving the game stats. It seemed like the story (book) would have been half as long if so much time hadn’t been spent telling us the stats of the mimic. It was too much for me. I just couldn’t keep listening to it. This was a lesson on how to take a fun interesting story, have it read by an excellent narrator, and totally ruin it by adding something (all the stats) that added very little to the story!
