I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

TJ Payne is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! This is the third book of his that I have listened to and it did not disappoint. What I like about Payne is that each book has been unique. Intercepts was a great horror sci-fi story. In My Father’s Basement was a very intriguing character study of a serial killer. Now TJ presents us with The Venue – the story of a, shall we say, “unorthodox” wedding that only TJ Payne could conceive.

Right from the start you can tell that Caleb, the groom to be, is a bit unstable, to say the least. So unstable that he chooses to celebrate his wedding day by thrusting his ex Amy into a bloodbath. I don’t want to venture into spoiler territory so you’ll have to find the rest of the story out for yourself. I highly, highly recommend this book if you’re a fan of horror novels that are somewhat grounded in reality, and I especially recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of any of TJ Payne’s prior works.
