I don’t generally read supernatural type books but was intrigued by the synopsis. The Ghost of Chance by Natalie Vivien was so full of feelings. You can really feel what it is like to lose someone you love, one of the most important people in your life, their just gone. Then, you meet someone else… someone else you could see yourself being happy again with. But then, you feel the guilt from finding some happiness again. Can you imagine?
Darcy finds herself falling for a nurse, Alis, hired to help her. Alis is so full of life and has this charm about her. All of this is just an interesting concept. And like I said, it does have a supernatural side to it but I don’t want to give stuff away. This makes you think of what you would do if or when that most important person passes on and you’re left with to grieve. Could you move one? What about when you’re being visited by your dead loved one? Darcy finds herself in a real pickle!
I feel like Vivien really wrote a thought-provoking book here. If we had that one chance to reconnect with a dead loved one, how would you handle that? Can you take that second chance at love and start over again? I enjoyed the twists and it really pulled me in! Vivien really paints a scene with her words for you. I also loved the narration. This was my first time listening to TJ Richards as a narrator. I really think TJ added a layer to this book…. brought the feelings and doubts to the forefront.
