It had everything! A genuinely likable MC (which is -rare- for this genre), excellent narration from all three narrators, a compelling story that involved a diverse group of side characters with their own fleshed-out personalities and goals, a plot that was never dropped and was paced well while also being compelling in and of itself.
It isn’t an instant masterpiece of writing…but it has all the things you can ask for in a novel, and all of it was good!
Will definitely recommend to friends, and will pre-order further books in the series as they become available without hesitation.
