This new series seems heavily derivative.

Let me start by saying I have thoroughly enjoyed Ken’s other series and anxiously await the next book in his First Colony series. This one seems to lean heavily on concepts from other authors making it less than original or engaging. Lot’s of similarity to the Bobiverse and Neil Stephenson’s writings. I also firmly believe that the narrator can make or break an audio book and I recommend that they find a new narrator for future books. Phil’s narrating can put you to sleep with the dryness and lack of range. Maybe narrating Ikea manuals would be a better fit.
