Rick Griffin has created a eerily wonderful universe with (so far) no humans involved. Piers Ryman delivers up this universe on a god, not silver platter with excellent narration, voices and emotions.

Mr. Griffin’s story-telling is flawless with good humor, tension and a desire for Gret (spelling?) to figure it out. At times in stories, a lot of words are spent on the back story. Here, Rick Griffin gives enough to provide continuity, but not overload the present story.

It did take me some time to get used to a universe without humans. Yet, I quickly adjusted and am glad I did. Mr. Griffin makes the various races different in thoughts and emotions to make them … well, alien. He also makes them familiar enough so that I could identify with them; cheering for the hero and booing the bad beings.

The additional short story concerning one of the baddies, “Commissione Susuks was a fun additon. Maybe all the bad beings aren’t as bad, just trying to get by.

I highly recommend this book. If you want something fun, different and worth investing your time with, get this book, download it now.
