A great combination of magic, humour and feeling. Great characters, a world-building that makes me want to know more, and a good use of the twink-grump trope.
Feels like there’s a ton of background research done that got left out of this book, to keep it light and tight. Being a proper nerd and a sucker for faeries, I loved the use of faerie politics and laws, and the general use of romance tropes that the story both toys with and breaks.

The narration is pure magic. I’d never heard Joel Leslie before, but whoa, he makes all these characters come to life in a fabulously nuanced way.
