Content warning: I am so appalled by this book. I tried to finish it but couldn’t. I read over half the book but when I got to the very descriptive scene of a child giving a man a handjob I could not go any further. Just because the man felt guilt afterward does not make it okay to have a sexual act with a child written in a way that expresses pleasure for both the child and the grown man. That people call this “beautiful” and that it won book of the year for Book of the Month is so disgusting and appalling. Just because a child says they want a sexual experience or enjoys a sexual experience from a grown man who has unconsciously groomed her does not constitute as consent!!!
