Totally unrealistic characters. The wife and daughter, to begin with, sort everything out to prepare with no direction from the absent husband. But then the husband arrives home and they turn into simpering wimps with no idea of what to do on most occasions. Every now and then they will have these bursts of independence that just make no sense in the general scheme of things. Multiple personality disorder seems to rule this household. The daughter is a teenager but is just sooooo good! She loves her Daddy so much and has no teenage angst. The husband is just awful, he is “so wise”, just dripping with truisms. If you are the sort of person that can cope with drivel like “all it took was one catastrophic event” for people to panic and then I guess you might like this. I returned these books. Just awful.
