I have a 13 year old boy and he’s my one and only child. He has ADHD and this book has given me tremendous insight on how to better my parenting skills; how to understand him and what the frontal cortex of his adolescent brain is going through. If you have boys, you must read this book to understand things you may not have known otherwise. When he talks about how we “over parent” and do everything for them, and how it may well be because our own parents demonstrated the same parenting methods with us. Yep, that’s me. Or how we have a hard time letting our boys separate from us, (of course I cried at this part, which tells me, there’s a strong chance I need some therapy to work on this) because we didn’t separate from our own parents until well into our adulthood. Yeah, that’s me also. This book gives parents the skills and tools to help their boys grow into healthy, confident and self motivated young men. Thank you to Dr. Price and his narrator! This was the best book I’ve read in many, many years.
