This is my first Sheri Cobb the authors listen. This is book 7 in the series. This is a historical story . Sheri captures how live was in Regency England . How the Ton thought . This story actually made you stop and think things out .
Hero is John. Heroine is Julia
Both John and Julia come back from Scotland married. It doesn’t say why they married but they are in love . John is a Bow Strret Runner , which in today’s world is a policeman. Julia is in the upper crust of Society. Little by Little John hears what society is saying and he feels like a kept man. It is slowly driving a wedge between John and Julia . Julia is not welcomed in the Ton anymore.
John gets his big break when Lady Washbourn hires John to find out if her husband is out to kill her for her wealth .Lady Washbourn father was a wealthy cit who married higher up than him. John can relate .
Does John find out if the husband is out to kill her . Does John and Julia marriage take a greater beating
Joel was fantastic as a narrator . He excels on this story. . His voice is steady , clear and strong
