Tried this author three times now and I honestly can’t enjoy his books. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt after the first dose of far-fetched ridiculousness, but the second and third books, including this one, read as if they were written by a pre-pubescent grade-school kid. The performances couldn’t save the pathetic story line and horrendous writing style here. It’s as if the author picked up a thesaurus, book of adjectives and sad one-liners and pieced them together on pages crammed with terrible video game references in between what’s supposed to be some kind of alien invasion. Really terrible book, I feel no shame returning this painful bit of storytelling and have no plans to ever purchase another book by this author.
