Like all of JS Morin’s books this one grabs you about 5 minutes into it and gets your own imagination playing along with it for the entire breadth of the series.
The easiest explanation is that this is a cross between Isaac Asimov, George Orwell, Arthur Conan Doyle and just when you think you have it all figured out the Lewis Carroll overtones come out. (and he had to lead me there actually)
While I suggest dedicating credits to everything Morin writes this one is the gem (so far) as it never got dull right up until the last minute.
