Ok, I read a ton of reviews about this book before i bought it. There was a LOT about how overly religious it is. I’m religious and I like post apocalypse stories, so I figured it would be ok for me. Well, if these people in this book (especially JC) are supposedly Christians, count me out. I understand that there is going to be killing in self defense and keeping your tribe safe in case of The End Of The World As We Know It, but good grief. JC is a murdering, torturing bastard who will shoot you in the back as soon as look at you. And none of the other ‘Christians’ seem to be able to stand up for their beliefs against him. And then, every other sentence is about a gun – what kind it is, how many bullets are in it, how the character is holding it, etc ad nauseam. I get it. They have guns. They use them. I don’t need a detailed description of every move they make with their guns EVERY SINGLE TIME. Just get over your love affair with gun description and get on with the survival story! I made it through the whole first book, which actually was not so bad. But book 2, man, I just can’t listen to another minute of this garbage.
