This book is incredible. The story is devastating and the awful family of Josh Powell should be ashamed. Josh Powell is where he belongs. My heart aches for Susan’s family. You can dislike a lot of people in this book. BUT, the book is extremely well written and gives extraordinary detail to this crime. I could feel the angst, sickness, sorrow, fear and loss in every word. This is the first time I have ever listened to a true crime novel and I was unable to stop listening. There were times I gasped, stopped all movement, clapped my hands over my mouth. I felt sick in my stomach at times.

The reader(s) were excellent. Kevin Pierce’s voice is incredible. He told the story so well. The contrast of Laura Merlington’s voice as messages was superb.

I think the only way this could have been better was knowing there was a resolution for the Cox family. Hopefully they have found some closure and peace.
