OK y’all, I have to be honest. I downloaded this on audible several months ago. I was so bored with the first few chapters that I wanted to return it. Also the narrators nasal tone was driving me crazy. For reasons I can’t remember I was unable to return it. So I just kept it in my library and moved on. When I found myself out of credits for the month and needing something to read, I decided to go back and give it another try. Boy am I glad I did. The beginning chapters drag a bit but are important to the story. However, it really gets good when you get deep into the story of Louise. From that point on the book is of and running and only gets better and better. I’m not sure if the narrator got better or I just got used to her but at some point I was no longer annoyed by her voice. This was one of those books when I just couldn’t wait for an opportunity to get back to listening. Yes, there were some tragic things that happened, but in the end, I was very happy with the way it ended. I love that it showed so many different stages that each of the characters go through with the relationship to God as well as with each other. I love that it addresses that Christians are also very flawed individuals. But our God is a very forgiving one. Highly recommend this book.
