Engaging story with more characters than the first book in the series. I had to rewind and listen again to parts where my mind wandered, but it was really pretty good overall. The nature of the game world is definitely unique, but everything else is fairly basic LitRPG. The characters are developed enough, but I’m not invested in them enough to care what happens to them, even the MC.
This series remains on the edge of “should I or should I not continue,” but I will continue. It’s not spectacular, but there’s enough to keep me interested, and potential to get even better. The introduction of a past villain at the end, which was a really good ending without being a cliffhanger, will bring me back to read Book 3. Since Book 3 Of Life Reset was just released, it will have to wait until I’ve listened to that highly anticipated update.
Jeff Hayes & Co. usually provide excellent narration, and this is another good production, but this series has lacked continuity, and includes voices that are just plain annoying. The female characters with strong Irish accents are overdone.
I don’t want to bash this series, just saying what I think the faults are so others don’t get their hopes up to be disappointed. The series overall is worth the credits, IMO, although there are many other better LitRPG books out there.
