I’ve listened to 6 books in this series so I think I have a good grasp of it all. so let me help at least 1 person out. this is NOT a 5 star series. most people give it 5 stars based upon what? so the story goes as follows. Lyndon grows up no powers learns how to cheat in order to get ahead in life. one day he has a divine intervention and he sets off to gain new found strength. cool. he meets yerin student of a sword sage and she acts like his bodyguard of some sort throughout the series and they later become close friends.

Lyndon eventually advances and his advances suck to be honest. you see through out the book, whenever Lyndon is under ranked by someone the author always makes as if that ranking is the best that one can hope for. well once Lyndon reaches these levels it’s crap. he’s still under powered and still has to cheat in order to win. he eventually reaches under Lord and like the last 5 books before he’s constantly straining his madra channels, only has 3 techniques. this book is wildly inconsistent! one moment a sage is like a god and the next even they have limitations only until they fight Lyndon and then it’s they have the strength of a god. you’ll constantly hear about how yerin sword rings like a bell. they introduce a ai that has the sassiest mouth in the world. I guess he’s trying to follow the marvel route of humor.

Lyndon comes from a world where only the strong survive, but guess what?! the strong don’t fight the strong. they pick fights with the weak, which exclusively means Lyndon. then Lyndon defeats these adversaries and in the world of cradle you’ll often hear the author say, if you’re defeated in battle it’s only because of yourself and you bring shame upon your clan/ family. but once Lyndon finds a way to eek out a victory guess what? blood fued. they don’t ask questions, they just attack him and it’s old ASF now. how many times must I hear, Lyndon I challenge you to a duel?

by the third book he gets locked up everywhere he goes. that’s lame, people don’t like him because of his class, but you have a similar class that’s actively destroying the world and everyone honors them, but hates the guy that’s trying to save it? this series is meant for maybe teenagers. it often gets silly at times. the only saving grace for this book is the narrator and Lyndons desire to win by just about any means necessary.
