As others have said, this is a very lightweight memoir. His Vietnam experience consists of about 15 short stories (maybe more, but having just finished this over the course of the last three days, that’s what it felt like to me), all but one of which carry no weight. The only one with any gravitas is the cliffhanger in the prologue…which is never revisited. I won’t go so far as calling it boring, but it was not what is advertised and is pretty forgettable.
