I feel like in the overall arch of this book not much really happens. I keep waiting for the MC to get stronger and have decent chunks of time to pass… we’ve got 300 years to get through!!!!
They need to have more than one problem in these books. They are so incredibly basic with the intro… conflict.. climax… conclusion. It has a fun magic system that I feel like isn’t advancing. And it’s the opposite problem most authors have they make the MC too op. But Michael Head make the MC have very little advancement but still take on greater and greater challenges.

The gods in the epilogue were predicting it would take him months possibly a couple years to get to his next stage and it’s been 3 years and he just walks up and could have killed a king at the end… they talk about how powerful the top end cultivators are but no… just no… it was so frustrating. Let the MC grow and then slowly take on more challenges.. I get the duke nox kill ok I can let that go but even so. It still annoying. The tournament took like 4 hours of this boook! Almost 50% was a damn tournament. Like wow move on! I like the concept but it’s increasingly frustrating me with how little actually happens.
