While book one had a bit slow start – for me – to get to like the characters, once you are on book #2, there are no such issues. The characters are great, and the story interesting. I really try to not reveal anything of the story, but let’s just say that the humor of Black Ocean is still there in this new series, for instance around the main protagonist’ choices of food and eating while in dire situations,

If you have bought the first book, don’t hesitate and buy this one, it’s better than the first one because now you know the characters. The old characters are also showing up more in this book, and the reader is left guessing (I don’t think I will guess wrong, but next book(s) will tell) about a certain wizard on earth.

The narration is still top-notch. Mikael Naramore (whatever his real name is 🙂 ) is awesome and should continue to narrate all future Black Ocean books IMO.

Disclaimer: I used my own audible credits to buy the first 2 books of this series(like I did for all my books so far, and for all of J.S. Morin’s books), before finding out that I do qualify for a free copy to leave an early review.

The only influence this future free credits have on my reviews is that I’m taking the time to leave the reviews, this does not impact my ratings.
