I think I’d call the first two books “Comedic Superhero Action,” and while that’s certainly the case in book 3, I feel like the stakes were raised in this book three which gave the story a sense of urgency that was missing before. This is a good thing. In a lot of ways this series feels like a scavenger hunt for geek and pop culture references which is entertaining in of itself because they aren’t always obvious, and people who had never played the games, read the books, or seen the shows they come from would never notice that a reference was being made.

I’m enjoying this series, series and plan to complete it.
