I almost returned this book when I heard the opening note, “I’m well known for writing the most insane, balls-to-the-wall, action in the business.”

Seriously? Do you think that much of yourself? Compensating much? I have 6 Robinson books. His books are generally, “I have extra credits I have to use” books. Here is what I know Robinson for. He comes up with interesting ideas. He writes interesting and funny dialogue. Then for some reason, when he gets to the 2nd half of the book, it is like a pre-pubescent boy is writing and everything falls apart into hard to conceptualize monsters. Anyway, Robinson goes on to compliment himself some more and even does so in the end of his book under the guise of being humble. Did you know he has written 70 books? He will tell you multiple times. Maybe if Robinson would put a little more effort into the end of his books, his books would not collapse under the weight of the story.

Anyway, this book was standard Robinson fare. Maybe even better than standard for him. The narration was spot on. The story was pretty good although derivative. Robinson’s best book is still “Infinite.” Not sure I will listen to his books anymore…that is unless I have unused credits that I have to get rid of!
