Oh! My! Gods!
Wow, what a roller coaster. Matt Dinniman really brought his A game with this story. As usual with my reviews I’m being vague on purpose to avoid spoilers, but chapter 73 in particular brought me to tears. Several times in this story, I really wanted to wrap up Carl, Doughnut, and a few other characters in my arms and give them the tightest of hugs, because let me tell you, they go through some crap. But the entire book isn’t a sob fest. There are still plenty, and I mean plenty of action scenes, snarky quips, and Oh Shit Moments—both good and bad—to have you at the edge of your seat. As always, Jeff Hays had me in my feelings, all the feelings with his brilliant performance. I absolutely cannot wait to check out the next, and newest as of this review, installment of this wonderful series.
