I can’t remember when I read a more powerful book. The history, science, and personal stories all reach out to touch you — all of it laid on the premise of climate change. This book is long, and terrifying at times, but it is also filled with grace reflected in the people, the land, and the way we think about ourselves and our world. The world becomes very small before it becomes somewhat large again. It is, perhaps, the most important book I’ve read in years.
