This book- in a vacuum- is good.

It’s too bad that the rest of the series slowly chips-away at what gave this book so much personality and charm.

Like many “isekai” stories that involve interesting spins on the genre (in this case, goblin protagonist) the author completely abandons the unique aspects of the protagonist and lets it devolve into a generic “morally righteous heroic protagonist that can do no wrong” VS “Maybe humans are the REAL monsters!”

Couple that with possibly the WORST case of LitRPG “stat-sheet-reading” segments I’ve come across in the genre, and I just can’t recommend this book.

The performance of Jeff Hayes- as per usual- is fantastic.

His voice-work is dynamic and full of emotion and drama without falling over the line of cringe.
