Not only do the stakes of the story rise, but so do the love lives of some of the characters. There are some scenes while I wouldn’t go so far as to call them graphic I would call them more sexually descriptive than anything we have seen in other books. There are not many scenes, but there are a few that some readers may want a forewarning of.
That being said, the main quest seems to be a simple one on its face: go and claim the land awarded by the King. But not so fast, there are major complications. Tens of thousands between here and there. This is a story about fighting unsurmountable odds, and once again the story took twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. I really enjoyed the development of the characters we know, and some new ones we meet in this book.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next, both in the ‘on the ground’ plotlines, and in the greater ones slowly developing over the series.
