Can you REALLY like a book and think the main character is an idiot? Pregnant Poe was protected when her parents and most of the world turned to dust.It is winter and of course she is devastated.She is in a house with a woodstove and has a generator.She goes to neighbors and finds a dog,no humans.She doesn’t go thru cupboards there or take dog food.She makes a lot of bad decisions and yet,she is our hope for the future.August is a dad who lost a daughter to the dust.He connects with poe and finds out that it is his mission to get to her.Every obstacle possible gets tossed in the way.Both human monsters and monster monsters are around.Narration by Jeffrey Kafer and Heather Costa was perfect.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.
