While I appreciate the attention to detail that the author brings, there is a LOT of repetitive information and unnecessary detail that made me feel a bit like a hamster on a wheel. Almost a quarter of the book is spent describing the financial, psychological, and at times physical abuse that Susan Powell experienced in her marriage. It’s incredibly important for the reader to understand their dynamics, but after awhile I found myself fast forwarding through the stories to move the book along. The same goes for the drawn out custody battle between the Cox family and Josh Powell. It’s important, but the book details literally every interaction they had, which is a lot. I think the book would benefit from some tighter editing but overall not a bad listen.
