This book is arguably the best way of a writer creating a overpowered character that I’ve ever seen. The only reason Lendon isn’t completely OP is because he believes he is not. As a low gold, he’s killed True Golds. As a High Gold, he’s killed True Golds. As a True Gold, he’s defeated a character near to being an Underlord. Two and a half years of pushing, he’s gone from Souless to near Underlord. He’s a character that encourages the reader to cheer for his progress and ignore the fact that he’s becoming more OP every day. By every novel!

It excites me to see his progress. It upsets me to see him cower, but it equally excites me to see him work his way past his own insecurities.

I love this stuff!
