At some point, scifi lovers will have such a large library of material to compare new books to that it’s rare that you experience something truly new. In this book, you certainly won’t find anything that hasn’t been done before. That’s not a bad thing, though. This is the work of two experience scifi writers, narrated by an equally experienced narrator. It’s good, it’s enjoyable, and it’s fast pace enough that it ends up focusing on the story, not reiterating old concepts that you’ve seen a hundred times before. With the story concluding (in theory, although Mr. Stewart has posted some things on his FB page that makes you wonder) in book two, the investment here is well worth what it gives you in return.
