After 10 chapters I had no idea what was going on, and I hadn’t met a character I cared to learn the fate of.

Maybe it improves? I doubt I’ll find out.

The only character that really sticks with after 10 chapters is a delusional and terrible “writer” whose behaviour is just over the top.

If you love long descriptions, multiple parallel stories, generally waiting for characters to expound philosophically during ship invasions… you’ll like this far better than I did.

The narrator was also quite monotonous.
