So the title of my review tells most of what is wrong with the book, the whole time I was reading I was thinking that could have been revealed in dialogue or that could have been expanded upon with more detail giving us a deeper understanding of the struggles the main character was going through, but no years go by in a flash, fairly major events just sort of happen. all the characters in the book are every flat and are mostly there for window dressing or to ooooo and ahhhh the greatness that is the Gary Stu of a main character. there is a whole new world to explore and I read technically two books (because this is a publisher’s pack) hundreds of pages and I feel like I read a three page summery in a travel brochure. even the narrator was struggling to emote with the bland material he was given. this book is the definition of putting in your time at the office and then going home. it will not be anyone’s favorite book. now on to why this book gets two stars not one, it is a easy read I never was so invested in the story that tuning out for even 10 or 15 minutes felt like I would actually miss part of the story, and I is a turn your brain off then play video games sort of book easy background noise for a car ride.
