This book took 90 chapters to tell a story that could have taken half the time. Yes, it’s a terrible crime but the victims’ ordeal is told when it happens then again when they prepare for the trial and again during the trial.

I recently returned another book by this author when he took chapters 2 and 3 to explain the history of the city of Houston – almost an hour of listening. Even Kevin Pierce’s amazing narration can’t help these books.
