Bought the second one hoping for better but it gets worse. Long, very long tedious conversations. Even while danger is imminent the characters are speaking to one another as if over coffee, considering multiple options. The protagonist is at one moment smart and prepared and then they capture valuable semi-auto weapons and no one thinks to carry them in place of their hunting rifles? And then they forget to pack them for the trip?

The author is trying to warn people about common mistakes while also having a semi prepared character but does a very poor job of pulling the plot together.
