Alexa was violently changed to werewolf after finding her family savagely killed. She grew into powers stronger than normal and worked for an agency that settled paranormal scores, never discovering her families killer or her maker. She becomes power joined to a vampire (with much heat and steam), much to the chagrin of her pack mate love.
I see the love triangle and power growth similarities to Laurel Hamilton’s Anita Blake heroine. Once Bitten has a less dark feel but is just as engaging. I truly enjoyed every minute of meeting the characters and experiencing their non-stop action.
