I haven’t read a Mari Carr book in quite a while. This was my first listen of hers and it was a good, quick listen. There are many tropes in this romance… billionaire hero, office, single mom (responsible for her nieces), and light bdsm. All tropes that I enjoy. It’s a great standalone even though it’s book five in the series. I definitely felt that I had missed out on who the other characters were. I’ll be looking into the previous books to catch up. Lochlan and May had a sweet and s*xy, but quick romance. My heart felt for May. Lochlan made me swoon. I really liked both characters.
Lee Daniels and Connor Brown are excellent narrators. They brought the book to life. Wonderful performances!
