I’ve read other books by Lane, and I’d rank this one a notch below her best work. We have here a sweet, light, fairly predictable story with ample doses of grumpy/sunshine and old/young; if those are your preferred tropes, you’ll like this just fine. While it’s not in any way groundbreaking or likely even memorable, this story goes down like a sweet treat on a hot day. Go in with low expectations and you’ll be satisfied.
PS – Dinged the usually impeccable Joel Leslie one star because when Graham’s native accent emerged, I could barely make out what he was saying. 🤷🏻♀️
