New Review! Siren in the Rain (#12 Fortune Favors the Fae) by @chloearcher_author as narrated by @jojofro1
This is actually my second Joel narrated title in a short span and let me tell you the double take I had to make when I got an earful of the accents used for the M.E.O.W squad haha SHE HAS THE RANGE DARLING!
I’m a BIG BIG BIG fan of this title since it was released and I had BIG BIG BIG expectations for how much passion I expected from the characters when they were narrated and I was happy to report that Joel NAILED IT!
Shae is SWEET! Griff is an EXCITED SURFER PUPPY! Papa Bear is FULL LEADER! Harper is mysterious and chic! Ruby and Emma are DARLING! and Cal is just BALLER!
I was just pleased with everyone and my personal fave??? HAKU. Joel’s take on Shae’s lil drake is just SO FREAKING PRECIOUS I CANNOT EVEN. Perfect. No notes.
Anywhozle. If this is your first go round, Shae is a half siren who has been imprisoned by his step mom and his evil father and used for his siren song. With the help of his friend and a ragtag bunch of Otherkind, he is freed from his confinement and taken to safety where he is met with his fated mate, a seggsy Wolfin surfer bóy.
Initially refusing the match, he focuses on healing and getting revenge, while his mate uses a mysterious gold coin to guide his actions into wooing his newly found mate.
Their courtship is SO cute but also sweet since the surfer wolfkin is also an empath and has calming pheromones and so much of their communication is about agency, physical and mental healing after trauma and dealing with PTSD.
It’s a wonderfully sweet read with amazing side characters with a feel good found family at its core
