I have been a recent spell of disappointing LitRPG so I was pleasantly surprised that this book actually lived up to its rating. There were likable (and not annoying) protagonists, antagonists whom I get irrationally angry at, character development galore, and a solid story from start to finish. There were several time skips, but I thought it was cleverly done to maintain the heart of the story and stay away from the overly done cliché of the protagonists exploiting some mechanic on day one that millions before them couldn’t figure out in decades. The performance was also great. I think anyone familiar with Justin, Jeff, and Laurie can speak to that. I will definitely be picking up book 2 when it comes out.
