Full stop, I despise litrpgs. I think it’s just so shoehorned in and terribly cringe. Sure, I enjoy a fun story or two but NONE of them compared to this book. This book has proven to me that a litrpg can actually be great. it’s funny, charming, and so damn entertaining. the litrpg element isn’t a gimmick, it’s just as much a character to the story as Carl is. And the character? Carl and Donut are a duo that really are a blast. Props to the narrator for having more vocal range than Mel Blanc. I could only dream to have such a talent as a game master for tabletop games myself.

For those of you who aren’t a fan of litrpg books because of the often poor quality, DO NOT sleep on this one. I look forward to the next book.
