- Any additional comments?
- I have never read a book by this author or listened to an audio book by this narrator. I am so happy I did though because this was such a funny, happy book with lots of sass. The narrator was fantastic! He really brought the characters to live and portrayed their emotions so well!
I think I fell in love with it 2 minutes into the book, his voice captured me!
I LOVED the humor and Lionel’s queenie attitude, I also liked that it’s part of himself and not an act. I thought that the underlining subject of gender flexibility and cultural acceptance of it was interesting, especially when it’s inside the LGBT community, discrimination against Femme gay man by other gay man, while still being hilarious, cute and well written.
I also really liked the fact this book really did not revolve around sex, it had very few sexual acts and they were not described in great detail most of the time. I was a bit put off by it at the beginning but then as I continued listening to the book I realized I was not missing it at all!!!! And I usually look for books that are more erotic and have lots of sexual scenes. This was another big surprise for me, this book didn’t have the usual characteristics I would go for or like but I enjoyed it so much!
