I’m a huge fan of the sci-fi genre, so the setting and subject matter of this book are fine.
The issue is that the author pulls from a very limited and unimaginative vocabulary, frequently and unnecissarily repeating the same words multiple times in any given sentence. Also the characters are unlikeable and completely unrelatable.
Finally, the narration is horrid. The shrill pitch of his voice alone makes him unsuited to the task, but he also manages to botch the cadence and flow of the story, pausing at the wrong moments and stumbling over words. Don’t even get me started on his ability to perform different voices for individual characters.
For how expensive audiobooks are and an Audible subscription is, I expect better.
