The main character is irritating, stupid, and unlikable. It’s made worse by Jeff Hays and his breathy voice. It sounds like he can’t end a sentence without running out of breath.
The side character are uninteresting, selfish, and stupid. Stupidity seems to be a running theme in this story.
For the most part, none of the characters seem like real people. They act and feel like shallow characters made by an unimaginative author.
Also, apparently the author thinks Earth and dirt are the same thing, which is flat out ignorant. They CAN be synonymous for the same thing, but they are NOT the same thing. Earth doesn’t translate to dirt in any language. Why would Earth only translate to dirt? Why not clay, sand, or gravel, all of which can by synonymous to Earth.
Anyone who enjoys this book has not read or listened to better books.
