Hearing the story of ordinary men being asked to do unspeakable things was fascinating.
Some used the situation as an opportunity to let out their aggressions.
Some refused to participate as their morality could not tolerate the horrors.
The stories in the first half of the book and the conclusions at the end are engrossing, though the last half of the book became a bit redundant and loose.
Overall, it is a remarkable story of how horrible people can be to each other for no reason, the power of group thinking, and that it is completely possible to remain righteous in the face of evil.
Completely worth a read, if for no other reason than to understand what happens when “good men do nothing”.
